Pentax Limited Edition K-r

Camera purists will hate this.  But I think most will love it.  Pentax has announced it will be releasing a “Limited Edition” of its entry level DSLR, the Pentax K-r later this month.  Pre-order will start December 24th, and the camera will be available in early 2011.  There will be only 100 copies of this “Limited Edition” camera and it will only be available in Japan.  Images after the break…

The motivation for this “Limited Edition” K-r is past success with other colaborations featuring Korejanai-Robo.  Korejanai-Robo is a toy/design manufactured by a japanese company called Zarigani Works.  The robot toy has even been made into USB drives and it apparently very popular in Japan

As you can see, the design of the camera really captures the robot image.  I’m sure that there will be 100 people in Japan that will be very happy with their Robo Camera :)
