Asus has announced a new display monitor that will attract the interest of many photographers. Accurate color is a must for photographers and this monitor is spec-ed to deliver, boasting the ability to display 98% of the Adobe RGB color space.This new monitor, the Asus PA246Q is an addition to the Asus ProArt series. This is a 24inch LCD monitor with a native resolution of 1920×1200 (16:10). The monitor features a P-IPS panel which is capable of reproducing 98% of the Adobe RGB color space. It also has a standard sRGB mode so web colors can be accurately produced. Other features include a tilt and swivel screen, 7 in 1 card reader, two USB 2.0 ports, Display port, HDMI, DVI, and D-Sub. Another interesting feature is it’s color adjustments. It has a customized interface that will allow you to adjust red, green, blue, cyan, yellow, and magenta colors independently with out affecting other colors. The 178 degree viewing area provides full color view at all angles with no visible color drop off. This should be one fantastic monitor if it lives up to specifications.
Pricing? Availability? No word on this yet from Asus. Lets hope it’s attractively priced because I want one!
